Looking for ninja games for kids you can play free online? Here's a short, honest list, including one that was designed by kids. We also give parents the practical stuff that most game lists skip: how names work, whether strangers can talk to your child, and how to keep play with friends and family only.
We're a small studio, not a rating board. These are the questions we'd ask about any online game, and what we can say about ours:
Can strangers chat with my child? Elemental Shinobi Brawl has no text chat. Players communicate only by playing.
Do they type a name? No. Players pick an adjective and a noun from word wheels instead of typing, so there are no free-form names.
Can I keep it to family and friends? Yes. Create a private room, share the five-letter code, and only people with the code can join. Quick Play matches you with other players online, so choose room codes or bots if you want control.
Is it a download? No. It runs in a browser on phone, tablet or PC, and also as an Android app.
How violent is it? It's cartoon ninja combat: shuriken, fans, lightning, with no gore. Still, play a round yourself and decide.
Pick one of eight elemental ninjas (air, water, fire, earth, lightning, ice and more), each with a basic attack, a super you charge by landing hits, and an evolution after 3 KOs that turns it into a one-hit ultimate. Every match is on a brand-new random map; hide in tall grass, dash out of danger, and level up to unlock skins. There's a picture-first how-to on your first fight, a Ninja Guide that shows each ninja fighting live, and a Ninja Creator to design your own. The first five ninjas were designed on paper by Sriyan, Adhvika and Shikhara, who are kids, and the game credits them on its title screen. Play online or against bots.
An ink-wash co-op platformer for two. You slice through folklore yokai with a magic red thread and fight five boss battles. It's the better pick for a parent and child sitting together on one keyboard or with two controllers; it also has an emote wheel, speech bubbles, a high-five, and assist options. Bosses are Cuphead-style, so it can be challenging.
A 3D action game where a monk and a girl who becomes four elemental dragons defend a Zen garden from demons. It can be played solo with an AI partner or split-screen with a friend. It's more of an action game than a brawler, with combat against demons (not people).

A first match with a young player
Open Elemental Shinobi Brawl together and let your child pick a ninja by element: water, fire, lightning, whatever they like.
Start with bots, so they can learn the controls with no pressure.
On touch screens, tapping auto-aims; dragging and releasing aims manually. A first-time how-to teaches this.
When they're ready, create a room and send the code to a friend or relative.
