Terms of Service
These documents cover every product run by Moonlit Ronin Studios (“we”, “us”):
- Moonlit Ronin Studios games and apps — browser games on https://moonlitronin.com (Monk & Dragon Sister, Alley Cats, Red String Ronin, Elemental Shinobi Brawl, Farming Acres / Moonlit Acres, Moonlit Hanafuda and future titles), their Android apps, and desktop/Steam builds.
- MRS Network — the optional cross-game player profile, achievements, Moon Shards and MRS Tokens.
- Garden Variety Gamer — our gaming YouTube channel(s) and the internal tools that edit and publish its videos through the YouTube API Services.
- eSports AI Coach — our AI match-analysis and coaching tool.
1. Agreement
By playing our games, using our apps or tools, creating an MRS Network profile, buying anything from us, or authorising one of our tools to access your accounts, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the services. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree on your behalf.
2. Using the services
- Our games are free to play in the browser unless a store page says otherwise. We may change, update or discontinue any game, feature or tool at any time.
- You agree not to cheat in ways that affect other players (for example, tampering with leaderboards, online sessions or MRS Network earnings), exploit bugs to harm others, reverse-engineer our servers, scrape our services, or use them for anything unlawful.
- Leaderboard names and anything you type that others can see must not be hateful, harassing, sexual, or impersonate someone. We may remove such content and reset scores.
3. Accounts and MRS Network
An MRS Network profile is optional. You are responsible for activity on your profile. We may suspend profiles that break these Terms, including for faking earnings or achievements.
4. Virtual items: Moon Shards, MRS Tokens and in-game currency
- Moon Shards, MRS Tokens, coins, pearls and other in-game items are a limited, revocable licence to use a feature inside our services. They are not money, have no cash value, cannot be sold, traded, transferred or redeemed for money or anything outside our services, and are not a security or investment.
- Conversion rates (for example Moon Shards → MRS Tokens), caps and rewards may change. Items earned through cheating or errors may be removed.
- If a game or the MRS Network shuts down, virtual items in it end too.
5. Purchases
Paid products (for example the Founders Pack) are sold through third-party checkouts such as WHOP, Google Play or Steam, and their terms and refund rules also apply. Prices are shown before you pay. Unless the store or local law gives you a right to a refund, digital purchases are final once delivered. We never see or store your full card details.
6. Content you send us
If you send us a clip, goal, screenshot, idea or comment (for example a Garden Variety Gamer “send us your goal” submission), you confirm you have the right to share it and you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, edit, publish and promote it in our videos, games and marketing, with credit where practical. You keep ownership. Ask us at legal@moonlitronin.com to stop using it in new content.
7. YouTube and Google
Some of our tools use the YouTube API Services. If you use a feature that connects to YouTube, you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google’s handling of your data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can revoke our access at any time at Google security settings.
8. Our content
Our games, art, music, code, characters, names and logos belong to Moonlit Ronin Studios or our licensors. You may stream and make videos of our games, including monetised ones, as long as you don’t claim the game as your own. You may not copy, resell or redistribute our games or assets.
9. Third-party services
Our services rely on others (web hosting, databases, payment providers, peer-to-peer connection brokers, weather and holiday data, YouTube). We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The services are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. See the Disclaimer. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Moonlit Ronin Studios will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, lost data or lost profits, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or CAD $50 if you paid nothing). Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer-protection law that cannot be waived.
11. Ending use
You can stop using the services at any time and ask us to delete your data (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Ontario have jurisdiction, unless your local consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms. We will change the effective date above and, for significant changes, show a notice on the site or in the game. Continuing to use the services after a change means you accept it.
